Skydance Paramount Plans to Cut Around 2,000 United States Roles – News
Skydance Paramount will begin large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 US jobs under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, completed in August with a value of $8.4bn.
More overseas workforce reductions are expected, with Paramount Skydance aiming to reveal full details in its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Previous updates suggested that Paramount planned to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 permanent and temporary staff plus 3,500 project-based staff.
The company has not yet commented on the matter.
