The Music Icon Plays a Dark Alter Ego of Herself in Fictional Documentary Preview

Charli XCX is preparing for a major film appearance in 2026, kicking off with the fictional documentary titled The Moment.

Within the project, she plays what she describes as a hell version of her public image.

It’s the truest representation of the music business that I’ve ever witnessed, the performer commented.

She clarified in an interview: This isn’t a concert film, yet the concept stemmed from the expectation to create one.

An Early Look into The Project

The initial preview, launched on recently, mixes actual recordings from Charli’s Sweat tour with imagined backstage scenes.

The mockumentary is directed and co-written by her collaborator, who revealed that the narrative focuses on a scenario where the artist opted for alternate decisions throughout the promotion of her hugely successful record Brat.

A Packed Acting Schedule

The mockumentary is a single one of several future film appearances for the musician, who recently featured in three festival films this year.

Upcoming Projects

The coming year will also include Charli with Olivia Wilde in erotic drama I Want Your Sex, Natalie Portman in gallery suspense The Gallerist, and Barbie Ferreira in scary reboot Faces of Death.

She also signed on to star in the actress’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

I am really enjoying my acting journey, the performer stated. I’m highly enthusiastic at the moment in this area, and I solely want to do things that inspire me.

Musical Contributions

Next February will also see the launch of Emerald Fennell’s adaptation of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from the artist.

Additionally, she will provide music for the film Mother Mary, with Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, scheduled for release next year.

The film is scheduled to debut on January 30.
